Unfortunately I missed last new year in Venice But I will be there this year and as a matter of interest my apartment is on the campo that you standing in Campo Dei Mori, a haven of tranquility in a city that sadly can be on the verge of suffocation from mass tourist influx at the height of the season The photos look fantastic, Venice is even more captivating (if that is possible) in the snow. We ate at Antiche Carampane a 6 course meal - fantastic. Then managed to get from there to San Marco 4 mins before midnight. It was heaving with people and didn't really feel safe with all the pushing and shoving. We left pretty much straight away and came back via Academia bridge. The snow was unexpected and did make for a good atmosphere. It was the only time my feet got wet after worrying about the flooding a few weeks before that was pleasing! We loved Venice for our short 3 days and hope to see it again when it's a tad warmer. Wow – I must’ve passed you!

I loved walking home from the pizzeria hearing the crunch, crunch, crunch under my feet as I walked. Everyone was so happy to see it--unfortunately, I forgot to bring my boots--coming from the Northeast USA, in winter, we don't travel without our boots!
